Fundraising
Fundraising is a vital part of the QAHH as is costs over £1,200 a week to provide our service to one of our residents. So, in keeping with our 90th Anniversary theme, you can support us by raising £90 from a coffee morning or if you're feeling brave, £990 from a skydive!.
Whatever way you would like to support us, the fundraising team here will be happy to help.

Every year QAHH must raise more than £1 million in voluntary income to meet the additional costs of providing the level of care that our residents need and deserve. QAHH is proud of its long history of providing exceptional care in an environment our residents feel is their home.
We are continually grateful to all our supporters, volunteers, staff and patrons who persevere in finding the additional revenue to help us towards this aim. This enables us to provide the highest level of care to those who have served Great Britain, and in the future to those serving us today across the world as peace keepers and in areas of trouble such as Afghanistan and Iraq.
Fundraising Standards Board
The Queen Alexandra Hospital Home (QAHH) Fundraising Department is now a member of The Fundraising Standards Board (FRSB). The FRSB, is a Not-for-Profit organisation that runs the self-regulatory scheme for fundraising in the UK. Set up in 2006, it currently has over 1,100 members, with more joining all the time.
The QAHH Fundraising Department has joined the scheme because of our commitment to excellence in fundraising and our promise to donors that they can give with confidence. It is vital our donors feel they can trust QAHH when we ask them to give to us. As a member of the FRSB and by using the best practice in fundraising, we believe donors can give with confidence to the Queen Alexandra Hospital Home – just look for the FRSB tick.
Trust and Foundations
We actively approach Trust and Foundations for support and offer recognition where requested for donations. We can provide project plaques, press releases and acknowledgement of donations within the annual review. We have many projects requiring funding of all sizes and are able to provide project budgets on request. Back to top

Make your donations have more of an impact!
What is Gift Aid?
If you are a UK taxpayer we are able to claim a percentage on your donations from HM Revenue and Customs, at no extra cost to you! To qualify for Gift Aid, you must pay an amount of tax and/or capital gains tax at least equal to the amount to be reclaimed in a tax year. All we need is your name, address and your permission to Gift Aid your donations – please ask at reception for a Gift Aid Declaration Form.
Not many people know this… If you are a higher rate taxpayer you can also claim tax relief for yourself at 18% of your gross donation, or 22p for every £1 donated through Gift Aid.
For a gift Aid form for your donation, please contact Fundraising on 01903 218444. Back to top
Legacies
Many of us know the importance of a Will; but like a lot of things we just never seem to get round to it. Legacies are so important to us as a Charity to ensure we can support future ex-Servicemen and Women. We would like to thank all those donors of Legacies that have enabled QAHH to provide the work today and in the future. If you are considering leaving a Legacy to QAHH please click here for a legacy form. If you have already left your Legacy and would like to include QAHH in it, please click here for a Codicil form.. Donate to the QAHH in memory of a loved one
By making a donation in memory of a loved you are providing a special and lasting gift to the ex-Servicemen and women who are cared for by QAHH. Your valuable donation in celebration of a loved ones life, will be helping the QAHH in continue caring for ex-Servicemen and women.
To make a gift in memory of someone all you need to do is contact us or send a short note to us enclosing your donation, along with the name and date of death. No gift is too small. You may also like to ask others donate to us instead of buying flowers, or continue to support us by remembering them on their birthday. If you are able to Gift Aid your donation, please do let us know and this will mean we are able to reclaim an additional amount of their donation from HM Revenue and Customs.
At an agreed date with yourself we will let you know the amount collected. Back to top

Supporting Benefactors
Now that our new state-of-the-art facilities are fully open, we need to ensure they are put to the best possible use. Our Supporting Benefactors will enable us to continue our vital work at the cutting edge of high quality care provision.
QAHH has a number of generous donors that we know as our 'Supporting Benefactors'. We invite you to make a donation of £500 or more too become one of our Supporting Benefactors. This can be a one-off gift or an annual contribution. Anyone who has donated this amount in a single donation will automatically be acknowledged as a Supporting Benefactor.
By making this significant contribution to the Hospital Home we wish to acknowledge this support in a number of ways including:
- Complimentary tickets to the annual garden party
- Invitations to exclusive Benefactor events
- A personalised page with individualised entry in our Supporting Benefactor bound book on display in QAHH
- Listing in our Annual Review in the year of donation (optional)
We realise that a £500 donation is not a commitment that everyone can make, and all donations are put to the best possible use. But by becoming a Supporting Benefactor your generosity will enable us to even further improve our standards and continue to provide a service for our Veterans that is second to none. Back to top
